Comic book fans that like tradition can relax, Comic-Con International is staying in San Diego. The Comic-Con contract with the San Diego Convention Center was up for negotiation for 2012, but the  Comic-Con International said that it has renegotiated its contract and plans to stay in San Diego for the forseeable future. The next convention will take place in San Diego July 21-24, 2011.
This past summer’s Comic-Con saw a rise in digital exhibitors. The Wall Street Journal has more: “[Micah Baldwin] the CEO of Boulder, Colo.-based Graphic.ly (previously known as Take Comics). [He] works with publishers like Marvel Comics to create apps so that valuable properties like Spider-Man can be available on any computer or mobile device. “This is the future,” says Baldwin, using the recent news that ebooks are now outselling hardcovers on Amazon as proof.”
This year Marvel and DC Comics both launched apps with digital versions of their comic books on board. We expect next year to bring enhanced comic eBook apps. What do you think?
